SmartPractice is a family owned business consisting of a number of companies which serve the medical, dental, veterinary, and chiropractic markets. For nearly 40 years, the SmartPractice family of companies has been a diversified organization providing practice management, including supplies, and patient communication solutions to clients throughout the healthcare community.

We are looking for a Material Handler II who will be responsible for assisting with the packing and fulfillment of orders on a daily basis.

SmartPractice practices a same-day shipping practice for all of our customers. This requires flexible work schedules in order to meet daily variances in shipping.

Skills / Requirements

Essential functions of the job (in order of importance):
1. Check contents of orders as filled comparing quantity, quality, labeling, shrink-wrap, and address with customer‚s order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct, maintaining an accuracy rate of 99.70%.
2. Complete various reports, receiving, stocking, and/or delivery of all products including negative and restock reports, job tickets and cycle counting as determined by department with good inventory accuracy.
3. Responsible for operating a forklift or other powered material handling equipment to move and stack merchandise. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, orderly fashion, and on a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance and evaluations on assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
4. Comprehend and adhere to good distribution practice requirements (GDP).
5. Employee is required to provide friendly, accurate, consistent and timely service to our customers. Employee must also demonstrate positive and professional behavior on a consistent basis. Providing excellent service to our customers is priority for this position.
6. Ability to lift 35 pounds.

Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experiences (work or education): Material handling, Inventory Control, prior Forklift Experience, Distribution.
Characteristics: Industrious, punctual, flexible, team player, and problem solver who has the ability to work with deadlines and understands how their work affects others and the business. Must maintain positive attitude at all times.
Skills Needed: Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, multiply) and write legibly. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least two hours straight, four times in an eight hour day). Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 35 lbs. The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Must be able to shift priorities easily. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.

Equipment Requirements: Conveyor, pad pack machine, shrink-wrap equipment, PC, material-handling equipment.

Lifting Requirement: 35 Lbs.
